INTERRELATIONSHIPS: Maintains open communication lines with Senior Management Team, Advisory Directors, governance, facility staff, attending physicians, patients and their families.
POSITION PURPOSE
The purpose of the LPN is to assist in providing a safe environment for individuals while they are in treatment.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS
1. EDUCATION: LPN Degree.
2.
Experience: At least 1 year working in a detox facility is required. Critical Care experience is a plus.
3. LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Florida LPN Certification
SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Demonstrates Proficiency in Communication & Written skills.
Knowledge of State & Federal Statutes Regarding Patient Confidentiality laws.
Knowledge of Drug-Free Workplace Policies.
Knowledge of Workplace Violence.
Knowledge of Corporate Integrity & Compliance Program.
OTHER

WORKPLACE ENVIRONMENT
1. ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
Position requires work in a temperature controlled environment; 80% - 90% of the time spent indoors.
Some potential exposure to violent situations.
Some potential exposure to airborne/blood-borne pathogens or other potentially infectious materials.
2. MACHINES/EQUIPMENT USED: Computer, Calculator, Fax Machine, Xerox Machine, Telephone System, Various Medical Diagnostic Equipment

PERFORMANCE/PROFICIENCY STANDARDS:

SPECIFIC AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY TO POSITION
1. To supervise patients completing the Detoxification Program with emphasis on patient safety and well being.
2. To remind patients of program rules and regulations as necessary and report infractions appropriately.
3. To take patient vital signs and document them accurately under the supervision of the on-duty nurse.
4. To provide emotional support for patients while referring them to therapy staff to deal with clinical issues.
5. To inform medical/therapy staff of developments as appropriate.
6. To provide assistance for patients who are able to participate in community activities in understanding and adhering to program schedules.
7. To document patient response to treatment as directed by the on-duty nurse.
8. To report and properly document all accidents, incidents, errors/omissions.
9. To inspect patient belongs and search for contraband when indicated.
10. To maintain knowledge of whereabouts of all patients in the treatment program.
11. To supervise patient preparations for discharge/transfer (packing, room inspection, etc.) in a
competent, professional manner.
12. To complete all assigned paperwork in a neat, accurate, and timely manner.
13. To exchange information at change of shift, giving incoming staff all information necessary for them to anticipate possible problems and issues and provide effective patient supervision.
14. To complete incident reports according to policy in a timely, accurate manner.
15. To communicate with other staff as necessary to promote quality patient care.
16. To run errands as assigned or scheduled, making efficient use of time and conscientiously completing all tasks.
17. To participate in maintaining clean, properly supplied and efficient work areas.
18. To observe and report safety, maintenance problems.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
