Machinist Job Description- Need CNC and Manual
o Program, set-up and operate all Manual and CNC machines to perform completely and independently specific operations as outlined in the methods and process sheets.
o Change, set and adjust tools as required
o Load and delete programs in the computer.
o Determine, set and adjust feeds, speeds and stops on all machines in the facility within operation capability to maintain specified tolerances.
o Be familiar with temperature changes caused by machine operations and the use of proper coolants.
o Have complete knowledge of the machinability of metals.
o Grind own cutting tools and drills (other than special purpose tools).
o Check parts using specified gages or check parts using furnished fixtures to see that dimensions are being maintained.
o Report improper machine function and/or check parts not being held to the proper dimensions.
o Able to use machinists hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
o Demonstrate a good mechanical aptitude.
Job Skills
o High School Diploma or equivalent.
o Minimum of five (5) years of Aerospace experience.
o Milling & Turning or VTL experience required
o Must be able to work different shifts
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and blueprints.
o Must regularly lift and/or move up to thirty (30) pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
